Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") governs the manner in which DNB Coach collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information of its users. The Policy also describes the practices applied to such user information, user's privacy rights, and choices regarding their information. This Policy applies to all users of the DNB Coach app and platform (referred to as "Learners", "You", "Your").

Disclaimer: DNB Coach is an independent educational platform developed to assist medical students and professionals in exam preparation, specifically focusing on medical question papers and doctor-reviewed answers. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any official examination body, government institution, or certification authority, including the National Board of Examinations (NBE), DNB, NEET SS, INI SS, or any other medical regulatory body.

By accessing and using the Platform, providing Your Personal Information, or by otherwise signaling Your agreement when the option is presented to You, You consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of information described in this Policy and Terms of Use. If You do not agree with any provisions of this Policy, You should not access or use the Platform.

1. Personal Information

"Personal Information" refers to information that identifies a Learner, such as first and last name, email address, age, gender, location, and/or phone number provided during registration. "Sensitive Personal Information" includes payment-related data and official identifiers. We collect this only to the extent necessary for the operation of the services. DNB Coach does not use account passwords — you sign in with a one-time code sent to your phone, or with Google or Apple — so no password is ever collected or stored. In accordance with the DPDP Act 2023, we also record sign-in details (including a device identifier, IP address, and app version) to keep Your account secure, detect unauthorised access, and diagnose problems. These records are not used to limit You to a single device: Your access and progress follow Your account across Your own devices.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect personal and non-personal identifiable information in several ways:

Personal Identifiable Information

Collected when You register on the Platform, such as name, email, and mobile number. This is provided voluntarily.

Non-Personal Identifiable Information

We may collect data such as browser name, device type, operating system, and technical information about Your means of connection to our Platform.

Cookies

Our Platform may use "cookies" to enhance User experience for record-keeping purposes. You may choose to set Your web browser to refuse cookies.

3. How We Use and Share the Information Collected

We collect and use Your Personal Information for the following purposes:

Data Sharing: We do not sell, trade, or rent Your personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners.

4. Third-Party Services & International Data Transfers

To operate the Platform we rely on a small number of third-party service providers who process limited information on our behalf, only to the extent needed to deliver the service:

Some of these providers process data on servers located outside India. Where that happens, the transfer is made only to deliver the service You have requested and in accordance with the DPDP Act 2023 and applicable law. We do not sell Your personal information to any third party.

5. Your Choices

6. Your Rights

Learners have the following rights regarding their data (as recognized under the DPDP Act 2023):

7. Data Security and Retention

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of Your personal information and data stored on our Platform. We retain your data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to fulfill the purpose of exam preparation. Data will be deleted or anonymized within 180 days of account inactivity, unless required for legal or audit purposes.

8. Eligibility & Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for medical students and professionals and is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in Your jurisdiction, and able to enter into a binding contract, to create an account or make a purchase. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected such data without the verifiable parental consent required by the DPDP Act 2023, we will delete it. If You believe a minor has provided us information, please contact our Grievance Officer below.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

DNB Coach has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes.

10. Grievance Redressal & Contact

In compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we have appointed a Grievance Officer to address your data concerns. The Grievance Officer will acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and endeavour to resolve them within 30 days. If your grievance is not satisfactorily resolved, you may escalate it to the Data Protection Board of India.
